Area of land for cultivation
The area of the region is 2.11% of Ukraine. In the Transcarpathian lowland, the foundation consists of meadow, sod, sod-podzolic, and marshy soils. At elevations over 1000 meters, valleys with meadow-brown soils have formed. The mountain ranges, which cover more than 65% of the region, are covered with brown, rocky, and mountain-forest soils.
Transcarpathia is located in the foothills and on the southwestern slopes of the Carpathians. The Prut Lowland makes up a third of the territory. Thanks to the moderately continental climate, the main grain crops grown in the region are winter wheat and barley. Legume cultivation, fruit and berry horticulture, as well as potato and vegetable harvesting, are also well-developed.
The territorial features and climate of the region create a demand for agricultural land. The land market of Ukraine, which will operate under transparent rules, opens up a new business direction – land investments.
