Vinnytsia region is located on the right bank of the Dnieper River in the Podillian Upland. Area of arable land

The region occupies almost 4.5% of the territory of Ukraine. The soil is mostly podzolic (about 65%). In the northeast of the region, chernozems predominate, in the southeast and in Transnistria – podzolic soils and deep chernozems, in the central part – gray, light gray, dark gray chernozems. Over 70% of the region’s territory has been plowed.

Vinnytsia region is located within the forest-steppe zone. The fertility of the soils in the region averages 55-65 units (on a 100-point scale).
