It has a state border to the southwest and west with the Lublin and Subcarpathian Voivodeships of Poland.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The area is 21,832 thousand km\u00b2. The population is 2,530,103 people. Agricultural land covers 1,264.3 thousand hectares, with arable land accounting for 798.5 thousand hectares. The soil cover is characterized by its location. Thus, black earth and gray podzolic soils are mainly found in the forest-steppe zones and watersheds, the plain forest-steppe zones are rich in sod-podzolic soils, while marshy and sod soils dominate in the bottoms of ravines and river valleys.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A large part of the territory is located in the Forest-Steppe zone on the Volyn-Podilsk Upland. To the north, there is a forest zone, while to the south are the Carpathians. Due to the moderately continental climate, it is possible to grow both grain crops (spring and winter rye, wheat, barley) &#8211; 48% of the sown area, as well as technical crops (sunflower, soybeans, rapeseed).
